Fenomena Childfree: Antara Pilihan Personal, Nilai Sosial dan Tantangan Masa Depan

Fenomena childfree telah menjadi perbincangan hangat dalam diskursus sosial kontemporer, terutama di tengah perubahan nilai masyarakat modern yang semakin menekankan pada kebebasan individu, kesetaraan gender, dan kesadaran ekologis. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dasar, sejarah kemunculan, alasan dan urgensi pilihan childfree, realita sosial yang menyertainya, serta pendekatan interdisipliner dalam merespons isu ini. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif-deskriptif berbasis studi pustaka, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi data dari berbagai jurnal akademik, buku, dan laporan ilmiah terbitan 2018–2025. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pilihan menjadi childfree bukanlah bentuk penolakan terhadap nilai keluarga, melainkan ekspresi sah dari hak atas tubuh, kebebasan eksistensial, dan tanggung jawab sosial terhadap masa depan planet. Meskipun demikian, individu childfree masih menghadapi tantangan berupa stigma sosial, tekanan gender, dan ketimpangan dalam kebijakan publik. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pendekatan interdisipliner yang mencakup dimensi sosiologis, psikologis, hukum, dan teologis untuk membangun ruang sosial yang lebih adil dan inklusif terhadap keragaman pilihan hidup.
